Looping the ends around my mat for carrying is the feature I didn't know I needed — no more juggling keys and a rolled-up mat on the walk to class. It's also long enough to actually help in bound postures where my hands just won't meet.
I've been using this mostly to reach my feet in seated forward folds, and the loop holds firm without digging into my hands. The mat-strap trick is a nice bonus since I walk to class and hate juggling my mat and bag.
