I've washed these a dozen times and the modal still feels silky-soft, no pilling at all. The four-way stretch means they move with me instead of riding up, which is rare for boxers in this price range.

The modal fabric is genuinely soft and the four-way stretch means they don't ride up during workouts. Only wish the waistband had a bit more grip, but for everyday wear they're solid.
